Neuromodulators are used for reducing or in some cases, eliminating facial wrinkles caused by using certain muscles contracting in a consistent pattern over a long period of time, such as squinting and frowning. By the time we are 30 or 40, these wrinkles are well-established. Botox can prevents or soften wrinkles by ceasing the underlying facial muscles from contracting. Without muscle contraction, wrinkles can’t form — it’s that simple.

NEUROMODULATOR INFORMATION

RECOVERY & AFTERCARE OF NEUROMODULATORS

Tox treatment involves little to no downtime. It is considered a “lunch hour” procedure, meaning you may resume your normal day immediately. However, patients are advised to wait 24 hours before taking part in any strenuous activity, and it is recommended to avoid using hot tubs or sauna for 2-3 days post treatment . You may experience mild post-treatment side effects, such as headache, redness, swelling, and bruising. You should avoid lying down for at least four hours following the treatment and avoid massaging any treated area(s) for at least two weeks. Gently cleansing the skin is around injections sites is fine.

Neuromodulator: SIDE EFFECTS

Tox treatments are one of the fastest and safest ways to eliminate facial wrinkles. The Skin Twin RNs- Dana and Evelyn- are both certified nurse injectors. Normal side effects include small red dots and/or bruises at the injection site. If these occur, they will fade within a few hours to days on their own, but in the meantime, foundation can be used for concealment. Application of Arnica post-injection may also speed the resolution of bruises. Headache may also occur after Tox treatment.

Neuromodulators: RESULTS & LONGEVITY

Neuromodulators takes 14 days for the complete results to become evident. In some cases, you may see results sooner, but if any touch up is requires, it must be 2 weeks after the initial injection. When accurately diluted and properly administered, you can expect your results to last for 3 to 5 months. The results wear off gradually over time, so there is no sudden change in your appearance. To maintain consistent good looks from your Tox treatment, plan to get treatments 3-4 times a year.

LIP FLIP FAQ:

What are the side effects to a lip flip?
-Because the obicularis muscle is relaxed, it can be difficult to use a straw (or the sucking mechanism in general) or whistle. This does bother some people, so understanding this is important before getting a lip flip.
•Is a lip flip the same as using lip filler?
-Nope! Lip filler uses a hyaluronic acid filler for injecting the lips to plump them and increase volume. A lip flip solely uses Botox (a neurotoxin) to relax the obicularis muscle to make the lip naturally relax and look more plump.
•How long does a lip flip last?
-A lip flip typically lasts 2 months or longer. Because the obicularis muscle is frequently used (talking, eating, etc) this means the Botox may be faster metabolized and would wear off sooner.
